Different Types Of Outside Antennas Used For Signal Boosters For Cell Phone

In a signal booster both outside as well as inside antenna are used depending on the model and purpose of usage. Outside antenna is the most significant and important part of the signal booster. It is evident that larger is the antenna better will be the signal reception and coverage. This will change the weak signals into strong ones where the weak signals act as the input to the signal booster. Therefore, choose a signal booster, also known as amplifier or repeater, which has a better quality exterior antenna for your home and other closed spaces like office buildings vehicles and others.

Types Of Outside Antennas

The signal boosters for cell phone usually have two types of outside antennas. One is the Omni Directional Antenna and the other is the Yagi Antenna. The omnidirectional antennas are used to catch signals equally coming from all possible directions. Therefore, if you stay in an area that has multiple towers for cellular network these omnidirectional antennas will be the best choice as they are the all-round performers. On the other hand the Yagi Antenna cannot work in 360 degrees like the omnidirectional antennas. These antennas have a limited functionality of 45 degrees but this provides a more focused approach to any signal coming from a single direction towards the antenna.

Other Types Of Antennas

There are other types of outside antennas as well like the Parabolic antennas, Magnet Mount Antennas, Trucker or RV Antennas and much more. Magnet Mount Antennas are extensively used in cars as these are 4 to 12 inches in length. This does not interfere with the cosmetics of the car and work with 3G as well as 4G signals. The Trucker Antennas are meant for harsh conditions due to their robust design. These are stronger and long lasting as well.
